Gulfshore Playhouse to present fund-raising benefit "Bubbles, Baubles and Broadway" March 8

"Bubbles, Baubles and Broadway", a fund-raising gala event sponsored by Bigham Jewelers and ProFloors and benefiting Gulfshore Playhouse, will be held March 8 at Quail West Country Club. This event features a glittering array of champagne, cuisine and entertainment.

The evening will start at 6:00 p.m. with a cocktail hour replete with gourmet hors d'oeuvres, several kinds of champagne delights and piano music. Two of Broadway's hottest stars, husband-and-wife duo Lauren Kennedy and Alan Campbell will entertain audiences with their new Cabaret extravaganza "It Takes Two" in the Showroom at 7:00 p.m. Food and drink will continue to flow in the Showroom throughout the performance. During the intermission, there will be a short live auction of jewelry provided by Bigham Jewelers. After the show, patrons will enjoy dessert and drinks with Alan and Lauren. 

Alan Campbell and Lauren Kennedy are respected, much admired and sought-after Broadway, theatre, recording, film and TV artists. Whether it was love at first sight or first sound, they have been making music, together and apart, as husband and wife for more than ten years. "It Takes Two" is a rich and joyous duet of music and laughter. Audiences will enjoy an eclectic mix of styles from rock 'n roll to Broadway showstoppers. 

Lauren Kennedy has starred in productions such as Spamalot, Sunset Boulevard, Side Show, South Pacific and was the final Fantine in the history-making run of Les Miserables. She has also starred in premieres including White Christmas, The Last Five Years, Breakfast at Tiffany's, Vanities, Good Ol Girls and The Ten Commandments with Val Kilmer

Alan Campbell originated the role of Joe Gillis in his Tony-nominated performance in Sunset Boulevard and starred in Susan Stroman's Tony Award-winning Contact at Lincoln Center. Other roles include Lanford Wilson's Book of Days, 12 Angry Men, Beauty and the Beast and Bells Are Ringing. Alan has also appeared in the films roles in Simple Wish and Tom, Dick and Harry. TV credits include five seasons on TV's Jake & the Fatman with Bill Conrad, Three's a Crowd with John Ritter, Another World, DR. Ellis Marshall on All My Children, and guest roles on Law and Order & Law and Order SVU, Homicide, Facts of Life and Matlock. Gulfshore Playhouse audiences may remember Alan from Oleanna and Doubt.
