Gay Men Chorus Elves Ring in 'Holly Jolly Holidays'

By: Nov. 15, 2006

Gay Men's Chorus 'Elves' to Ring in the Holly Jolly Holidays
Chorus' popular annual holiday concert Tuesday, Dec. 19 in Broward Center's Amaturo Theatre

Fresh from their star turn as "musical Munchkins" in the recent tribute to Judy Garland, the members of the Fort Lauderdale Gay Men's Chorus now take on the role of merry elves to present their upcoming "Holly Jolly Holidays" concert Tuesday, Dec. 19 at 8 p.m. in the Amaturo Theatre of the Broward Center for the Performing Arts.

Director Todd Wiley reports that the music in this year's edition of the popular annual holiday event will be more diverse than ever. "We continue to aggressively look for new music and new arrangements of favorite classics to make this and every other FTLGMC concert a rich musical experience. Along with lush and touching arrangements of such favorites as "Angels We Have Heard On High" and "The Christmas Song," we'll have bouncy '50s- and '60s-style Christmas medleys, Christmas on Broadway and beautiful Chanukah songs. It's truly a program for everyone."

Due to the popularity of the recent "Judy" revue and the chorus' successful season, tickets to the holiday concert are already selling well. You are encouraged to order your tickets through the Broward Center's AutoNation Box Office at (954) 462-0222 or online at
http://www.browardcenter.org or http://www.ftlgmc.org as soon as possible. Tickets for the holiday concert are $40, $30 and $20.
