Broward Center For The Performing Arts, 201 SW Fifth Avenue, Fort Lauderdale, FL

Multi-talented and two-time Tony®-nominated actor Gavin Creel is
sharing his experience of 14 years on stage with local students at the Broward Center during two, three-hour, master classes.

Creel was nominated for the Best Actor in 2004 for Thoroughly Modern Millie and most recently as Claude in Hair. An alumnus of the nationally renowned University of Michigan Musical Theatre Department, Gavin is also an accomplished singer-songwriter and brings his unique style of teaching to enrich and inspire young performers. Each master class is limited to 10 on-stage participants who will work directly with Gavin on stage and 150 interactive audience members.

Note: This class is ideal for students high school aged and older.
Younger students must be accompanied by an adult. On-stage
participants should be high school aged and older.

They must bring 3 songs with sheet music in the correct key - 1 up tempo, 1
ballad and 1 pop song which can be either tempo (one song should be
pre-1970 and one song should be post-1970) Accompanist will be
provided.

* Two 3-hour sessions: Session 1 - 10am - 1pm / Session 2 - 3pm - 6pm
* $50 per on stage participant / per session.

Co-presented by Barton G. Weiss and the Adrienne Arsht Center for the
Performing Arts of Miami-Dade County with Musical Director Ben Toth,
Prelude By Barton G. Presents brings a host of happening performers to
Miami for two-night only shows at Prelude By Barton G. inside Ziff
Ballet Opera House.

Gavin Creel is a two-time Tony Award nominee for his performances in
HAI and THOROUGHLY MODERN MILLIE. He also performed in the 2004
Broadway revival of LA CAGE AUX FOLLES and has performed on London's
West End in MARY POPPINS and HAIR.

Creel is a well-respected LGBT advocate and was honored in 2009 by OUT
Magazine as one of the OUT 100 for his work as co-founder of Broadway
Impact, an organization that fights for marriage equality in the
theatre community. He has been featured in the Cyndi Lauper True
Colors Cabaret Series.
