Finalists Announced for Broward County's 2013 Arts Teacher of the Year

Twelve finalists have been announced for the 2013 Broward County Arts Teacher of the Year. Broward Cultural Division and Business for the Arts of Broward are proud to name 12 Broward County Arts Teachers as the esteemed finalists for these excellence in arts education awards. Broward County's 28th Arts Teacher of the Year celebration will be held on Wednesday, November 6, at the Broward Center for the Performing Arts in Fort Lauderdale.

The finalists have been selected from Broward County's public, private and charter schools for this honor in arts excellence. This is the first year that there will be one winner in each of the four categories (dance, theater, music and visual arts), and announced on the night of the event.

On an occasion that is scheduled to be cast with some of the finest arts students and teachers in Broward County, local businesses and attendees will show support for the importance of excellence in arts education. Performances and exhibitions will add to the festivities. RSVP

For more than two decades, the Broward County Arts Teacher of the Year Program has celebrated and showcased the artistic excellence of students and faculty of Broward County schools. Through a partnership among Broward Cultural Division, the School Board of Broward County, Broward Center for the Performing Arts, Business for the Arts of Broward and sponsorship from Title Sponsor Florida Power & Light, AutoNation; BBX Capital; Broward College; Gibraltar Private Bank and Trust; Kopelowitz Ostrow Ferguson Weiselberg Keechl; Publix Supermarket Charities; and Cruise Voyant; the Broward County Arts Teacher of the Year Program highlights the outstanding arts teacher in Broward County; and provides an opportunity for arts students to gain valuable experience performing in a high quality, professional, performing arts institution, on the evening of the award ceremony.
