Davening Divas of Congregation Shaarei Kodesh in West Boca Set for Today
Congregation Shaarei Kodesh is proud to announce the Davening Divas in Concert on Sunday, December 8th, 2013 with a special appearance by Bagels 'n Box. The eclectic program will include a variety of original compositions and familiar music with broad appeal to both young and mature audiences. The proceeds from this family friendly event will benefit the many programs Congregation Shaarei Kodesh provides to its members and the community. A wine, cheese and dessert reception will immediately follow the concert.
The Davening Divas will perform a wide range of music including Jewish Folk songs, original meditative chants, as well as original compositions of Jewish Liturgical Music in English and Hebrew. Bagels 'n Box will add a modern flair to classical Hebrew prayers with their beat box and hip hop Signature Sound. The performers will at times engage the audience for a truly interactive experience.
Michelle Cohen, Sherry Dansky, and Amy Pessah, congregants of Shaarei Kodesh, are the Davening Divas. These three talented women are gifted with distinctive voices and unique styles and the ability to entertain and delight their audiences. Their passion and joy for music is evident in every performance.
The dynamic and eclectic sound of Jay Stone and Jon Murstein, known as Bagels 'n Box, revive classical Jewish prayers by creating a funky modern twist with their vocal beat box. Bagels 'n Box presents an enlivening fusion of centuries-old prayer and cutting-edge vocal percussion, preserving the traditional sounds of Judaism within an exciting, hip-hop context that engages and delights audiences of all ages.
