Cultural Council of Palm Beach County to host Creative Capital 3 Day Professional Development Program November 8-10

By:

The Cultural Council of Palm Beach County invites artists who live or work in Palm Beach County to apply for the chance to attend an exciting three-day intensive workshop to learn skills in self-management, strategic planning, fundraising and promotion. The workshop, presented by Creative Capital, takes place Nov. 8 through Nov. 10 at the Cultural Council of Palm Beach County, 601 Lake Avenue, in Lake Worth. Deadline to apply: 4 p.m. Oct. 11. This special event is generously sponsored in part by JP Morgan Chase.

"This program is geared to help artists succeed as professionals," said Rena Blades, President and Chief Executive Officer of the Cultural Council of Palm Beach County. "It is likened to a crash course in management, planning and marketing wrapped into one intensive weekend of learning and networking."

Creative Capital Professional Development Program:

The workshop utilizes lectures, peer critiques, one-on-one consultations, interactive exercises, handouts, and written assignments to introduce business skills to individual artists. The weekend begins with artists showing each other their work. Then presentations by the workshop leaders are followed by focused sessions in each of the topic areas. Participants are given a handbook and workbook as well as handouts on practical how-to information. A fee of $300 for Cultural Council members; $350 for non-members will be charged to those who are selected to attend the workshop. Payment is required upon acceptance into the program.
