No todas vamos al Mictlán is a new work by Esperanza de Velasco that explores the Mexica worldview on the afterlife and the fates of souls. It reflects on the various realms of existence, emphasizing the journey of women who have experienced violence, represented through evocative musical themes. The piece will be performed by the Orquesta de Cámara de Bellas Artes, under the guest direction of Gina Enríquez, with James Ready as the featured soloist. The concert is part of a program celebrating women's contributions to music, also featuring world premieres of other contemporary works.
