BASOTEVE at Instituto Nacional de Bellas Artes y Literatura

BASOTEVE, a contemporary dance piece created by choreographer Diego Vega Solorza, explores themes of masculinity and geography in northern Mexico. The performances took place at the Pabellón del Jardín Escénico on July 5 and 6, drawing a full audience eager to engage with this symbolic and interdisciplinary work. A central feature of the piece is a double saddle, designed by Vega Solorza, which serves as both a visual and conceptual anchor, reflecting on inherited codes of masculinity and the interplay of violence and erotism. This presentation also marked a celebration of ten years of Vega Solorza's artistic career, known for pushing the boundaries of conventional dance.
