Director Aliza Moran calls Desdemona: A Play About a Handkerchief 'a fun, humorous, and poignant play. I fell in love with the play in college and am so excited to be able to direct it now. Paula Vogel takes three well-known female characters from Shakespeare's Othello (Desdemona, Emilia, and Bianca) and breaks their Shakespearean mold by adding depth to their wants, needs, desires, and relationships in this modern language retelling; each character desires to break free from their present circumstances and live lives of their own making.'

Following its opening on Broadway in April 2015, Lisa Kron and Jeanine Tesori's innovative and decidedly modern musical Fun Home enjoyed a 582-performance run and garnered five 2015 Tony Awards, including Best Musical. Based on Alison Bechdel's graphic novel depicting of her childhood and coming of age, including most prominently, her realization of her sexuality and complicated relationship with her gay father, Fun Home currently finds itself in the capable hands of Memphis's Playhouse on the Square.

All ages from toddlers to grown-ups will enjoy presentations pulled directly from the comic strip: Joe Cool, the Easter Beagle, the Psychiatric Booth - - - still only 5 cents, Linus in the Pumpkin Patch, Woodstock falling in love with a worm who runs off with the Early Bird, Charlie Brown trying to deal with his independent beagle, and so much more.

42nd Street taps its way across the boards at Theatre Memphis on the Lohrey Stage June 8- July 1, 2018. Marty Stuart and His Fabulous Superlatives Come to Graceland Theater

Graceland has announced that five time GRAMMY Award winning country superstar and Grand Ole Opry member Marty Stuart and His Fabulous Superlatives will bring his eclectic blend of rockabilly, honky-tonk, and traditional country music to The Guest House at GracelandTM Theater on June 9 for an electrifying, one-night only, concert performance at 8 p.m. Opening for Stuart will be the London-based, country-folk-pop quartet The Wandering Hearts whose deft fingerpicking, rousing choruses, dark-hued lyrics, and sweet, close vocal harmonies have drawn comparisons to Fleetwood Mac and accolades from fellow musicians including Stuart.
