Three Memphis Tenors... and a Baritone, a fun and original cabaret performance as part of a Summer Showcase, opens at Theatre Memphis in the Next Stage July 7 and runs through July 23, 2017. Featuring four Theatre Memphis mainstay performers, Philip Himebook, Charles McGowan, Joseph Lackie, and Charles "Chuck" Hodges, Theatre Memphis has created its very own version of the The Three Tenors but with a twist. With favorites primarily from Broadway and opera, musical director Jeff Brewer has conceived an evening that will unite the best and brightest voices for the perfect summer offering.

Theatre Memphis has presented a Summer Showcase over the past few years as an additional production outside the scheduled season offerings. The performances have traditionally been ones that are brought back from a successful run in the previous season or as preview to what will be produced in the next season. With the added event, Theatre Memphis offers 12 productions over the season which typically runs August through June.

"We found that we were able to utilize a time slot that traditionally was not being filled with a performance," says Theatre Memphis Executive Producer Debbie Litch. "Summers typically were when we had down time for our staff and handled repair and updates to our facility," she relates. "But with planning and creative thinking we found the time and resources to still produce the quality show we like to produce and the benefit is our patrons have another chance to be entertained."

The Summer Showcase is not a part of the regular season membership, but season members do get discounts on full price adult tickets. A special cocktail buffet preview will be held on July 6, 2017, that will include the performance, food and an open bar. Price of the preview event is $100 per person and tickets can be obtained by calling the box office at 901.682.8323. $50 per ticket is tax-deductible.
