Theatre Memphis Hires New Staff Member

Justin Dowdy has been added to the staff of Theatre Memphis recently as the Assistant Technical Director. Originally from New Castle, Virginia, Dowdy comes to the Theatre Memphis position from Myrtle Beach, South Carolina, where he served as the designer and actor supervisor for Ripley's Entertainment "Haunted Adventure."

His time there allowed him to be part of the attraction's update which included sound, scenery and props. Dowdy graduated from Radford University with a degree in Technical Theatre and brings a wide range of skills to the Theatre Memphis position, including carpentry, electrical and creative design. Even with all the hands-on responsibilities, Dowdy says, "Electronics is where I found my niche, but I work on it all."

Theatre Memphis Executive Producer Debbie Litch comments, "We are lucky to have added such a well-rounded individual to our staff. His background has a range that allows us to tap into many of his skills. We welcome Justin to the TM family."
