The Seeing Space, a new theatrical collaborative founded by Lila Rachel Becker, Aislinn Frantz, Patti Miller, and Caitlin Weisensee, will be presenting Moments of Inertia, an evening of two one-act plays that tell the story of characters trying to maintain stability while the world around them spins out of control.

Chicago, an award-winning play by Sam Shepard, centers around the emotional journey of Stu as he copes with the nightmare of his rapidly changing reality. As his lover is driven away by his eccentricity, he finds himself stuck, literally, in a claw-foot bathtub.

Antígona Furiosa, by Argentine playwright Griselda Gambaro, opens with the title character hanged in a public square. This charged adaptation of the classic story of Antigone asks: how can one person confront a violent political machine?

Moments of Inertia will be performed tonight, February 19, 25, 26, and March 5 in Portland Stage's Studio Theater. All performances begin at 8pm and are free - though a $5 donation is suggested.

The Seeing Space strives to bring young, diverse, and innovative works to Portland audiences. For more information, visit www.facebook.com/TheSeeingSpacePortland.

The Seeing Space will present Moments of Inertia at the Portland Stage Company, 25A Forest Avenue, Portland, ME. Call (817) 991-5594 or email theportlandseeingspace@gmail.com for more information.
