Penobscot Theatre Company Offers February Vacation Camp
Penobscot Theatre Company is hosting a theatrical day camp for children ages 4-14 during February School Vacation, February 16-20. Each day, expert and highly energetic teaching artists will lead participants in various dramatic activities centering around a new theme.
"Our February Vacation Camp is a perfect way for children to discover the art of theatre in a fun, collaborative environment," said Amy Roeder, the company's director of education. "The full-day experience is also great for kids who have had some training and want to go deeper. We'll be exploring all of the many and varied aspects of theatrical performance-and having a blast."
Camp days will begin at 9:00 am with structured activities until 4:00 pm. Because each day will be centered on a different theme, the camp will be flexible and children may attend any or all of the days. Themes may include (but will not be limited to): musical theatre, Shakespeare, storytelling, improvisation and theatrical design. Each day will end with a showcase of the work for students' families at 3:45pm. All activities will be held at the Bangor Opera House, 131 Main Street, Bangor.
