Penobscot Theatre Company Adds Halyard Health Care to Training Roster

By:

Penobscot Theatre Company is extending its reach well beyond the Bangor region to deliver corporate training that is dramatically different and highly effective. This week, Director of Education Amy Roeder travelled to Roswell, Georgia, to lead a workshop for sustaining engineers at Halyard Health Care as part of a program on "Disruptive Innovation."

"We were engaged to help these incredibly bright scientists-experts in their field-communicate more effectively with one another and respond to unforeseen challenges as they arise," explained Roeder. "Halyard's specific goals included creating a culture of innovation and collaboration amongst their engineers and our training addressed this goal in a creative and participatory way."

Formerly part of Kimberly-Clark, Halyard Health became an independent company headquartered in Alpharetta on November 1, 2014. Halyard operates 12 global manufacturing facilities with 16,500 employees worldwide - generating approximately $1.7 billion in net revenues - according to its website.

With Roeder's experienced leadership, Penobscot Theatre Company is offering its corporate training program as a way to extend the benefits of professional theatre training to the business realm. Customizable and available in various formats, workshops are designed to foster institutional agility, creative problem-solving, and open communication. Roeder has worked with business clients worldwide with outcomes ranging from improved customer service to increased employee retention.

"Shakespeare said it best," she said. "All the world's a stage, and to the extent that we're all players, we can use the craft of acting to strengthen our performance."
