Maine State Music Theatre elected three new members to their board of trustees during an annual meeting held December 13. Marie Barbieri, Reginald (Reg) Elwell, and Melissa Knutson - all from Brunswick, Maine - joined the 25-member board for two year terms.

Barbieri is a former professor and taught at the University of Pennsylvania, Williams College and Bowdoin College. She has also served on the board of directors of Arts Are Elementary, the school board at St. John's Catholic School, and currently serves on the board of trustees of Camp Bishopswood and on the development committee of Mid Coast Hunger Prevention Program.

Elwell spent 28 years in the forest products industry in central and eastern Maine. After retiring, Elwell ventured into fundraising and development at Boston University and Massachusetts General Hospital before retiring back to Maine in 2009. He is a member of the Brunswick Maine Rotary Club and serves on the board of directors of Midcoast Senior College.

Knutson is the Vice President and Commercial Loan officer at the Brunswick branch of Androscoggin Bank. She currently serves on the business committee of the Maine Summer Camps and Junior Maine Guide Program's Board of Directors. She has served on the business committee for Peak Venture Group in Colorado and the Charitable Fund Committee for JP Morgan Chase.

For 59 years, Maine State Music Theatre has brought first class Broadway-quality theatre to the picturesque town of Brunswick. The theatre, contracted with the Actors' Equity Association's Council of Resident Stock Theatres (CORST), produces four main stage musicals, two Theatre for Young Audiences musicals, and three Monday Concerts each summer at the Pickard Theater on the beautiful campus of Bowdoin College.
