Amy Mussman comes to MSMT from the Washington National Opera in D.C., which performs at The Kennedy Center, where she is the Costume Stock Coordinator.

As the Manager of MSMT Costume Rental, Amy will expand the present business to include the rental of props and scenic backgrounds.

"Maine State Music Theatre does not just impact the Maine community, it impacts the entire nation bringing together many talented people into a thriving arts community, who all share a passion for musical theatre and are able to create life long contacts and friendships. MSMT reaches out and changes lives. I'm excited to be a part of Maine State Music Theatre's future and it's continuing influence in Brunswick and the theatre community." - Amy Mussman

Amy received a Bachelor of Arts degree in Theater from Kansas State University and spent her college years studying light, costume, and set design. She is the author of The Prop Master, which is used as a college text to teach comprehensive theatrical prop management, and is a contributing writer for Stage Directions magazine.

"We work with talented dedicated artists and craftsmen all the time, but every now and again someone stands out, grabs your attention and you know you want to keep them around. Amy is a star and we're so fortunate she's agreed to join MSMT's team. I have no doubt we'll see her department grow and thrive under her direction. AND she's fun to work with! It makes a difference!" - Steve Peterson, Executive Director, MSMT

Working as the costume designer for Allenberry Playhouse and Forestburgh Playhouse, the props master for Maine State Music Theatre and as an instructor and director for Delaware Theater Company's summer youth theater camp has added depth to her knowledge. In an effort to share her expertise, she has spent her free time designing costumes and sets for high schools in the Delaware and New Jersey area. "Focusing on being a well-rounded, knowledgeable theater artist or technician," Amy says, "will not only make you a confident team member, but will keep the art of theatre forever interesting and challenging - opening all doors to creativity and imagination."
