FAUST – Parts I & II at Theatre Row, Manhattan

A solo adaptation of Goethe's Faust, Parts I & II, performed by Max Pfnür, who takes on all the characters himself. The five-and-a-half-hour performance combines Goethe's language with music, live looping, and video projections. The show is performed in German, with English surtitles inspired by silent-film intertitles. It received second prize from the jury at the 2025 Heidelberg Theatre Awards following performances in Austria, Luxembourg, and Germany.
