“And what do you do for a living, Mrs. Levi?” asks Ambrose Kemper in the first scene of this delightful musical comedy. “Some people paint, some sew...I meddle,” replies Dolly. The story takes place when the irrepressible matchmaker Dolly Gallagher Levi is hired to arrange a marriage for the miserly half-millionaire, Horace Vandergelder, and she finds him the perfect mate—herself! But first she must win the heart of her unsuspecting “husband to be” before he gets hitched to somebody else. Join Dolly on a whirlwind race around New York at the turn of the 20th century, following the adventures of America’s most beloved matchmaker! Recommended for all ages.
