USC Professor Mark Moore's CROOKED ROADS Set for Village Gate Theatre, 1/29 & 31

By:

USC Professor Mark Moore's one-person show, "Crooked Roads," plays on January 29 and January 31 at the Village Gate Theatre at USC.

"Crooked Roads" follows Mark Moore's struggle to reconcile the competing legacies offered by a labor organizer father and an MIT economics mentor (Rudi Dornbusch), until an unlikely creative impulse overturns his life. A play that explores relationships-fathers and sons, mentors and students, friends and coworkers-and the associated conflict of ideas, "Crooked Roads" asks how we make the decisions that mold our identities.

Mark Moore earned his MFA in acting from the Shakespeare Theatre Company Academy for Classical Acting at George Washington University. In Los Angeles, he has appeared with the Antaeus Theatre Company and A Noise Within, among other companies. Mark also teaches economics at the University of Southern California, where he is an Associate Professor (Teaching).

Director Rod Menzies' Los Angeles credits include Andrew Dolan's The Many Mistresses of Martin Luther King, (Ensemble Studio Theatre), Susan Merson's The Marriage Suite (Ensemble Studio Theatre); Nora, adapted from Ibsen's A Doll House (Pico Playhouse); and Lee Blessing's Two Rooms (McCadden Place Theatre). New York directing includes Susan Merson's White Birches for the American Avant Garde Arts Festival and Arturo's Window, (York Theatre). Regional directing includes Shakespeare's Pericles and Beaumont and Fletcher's The Maid's Tragedy (The Shakespeare Theatre, Washington, DC). He has developed and directed more than a dozen solo shows in New York and Los Angeles, many of which have toured nationally.

"Crooked Roads" plays at the Village Gate Theatre on January 29, 2013, at 7 p.m., and on January 31, 2013, at 7 p.m. Buy tickets online at http://bit.ly/crookedroads or at the door. Facebook.com/markmoore.crookedroads.
