The Group Rep Offers LA Premiere of A CHRISTMAS CAROL, 11/28-12/20
A CHRISTMAS CAROL, based on Charles Dickens' classic Christmas story, written by Richard Hellesen, music & lyrics by David De Berry, directed by Ernest A. Figueroa has its Los Angeles premiere and opening, Saturday, November 28, 7:30 pm, at the Lonny Chapman Theatre in North Hollywood.
The musical plays Fridays, Saturdays and Sundays at 7:30 pm, with a Sunday matinee at 2:00 pm, November 28 through December 20, 2009.Pure Dickens! It is all in the words. Magical - Mystical- Musical. All of the elements of the original classic Dickens’ tale are here - - illuminated by music, with mask and puppetry in the style of Julie Taymor’s The Lion King. This production is the ultimate live, 3-D experience with ghosts, carolers and old Ebenezer coming to life right before your very eyes.
The Los Angeles Premiere of this fresh musical features lush orchestrations, and a 25 voice choir.
