The Clown School to Welcome Commedia dell'Arte Expert to LA, Beginning 1/11

Beginning Sunday, January 11, The Clown School welcomes to Los Angeles for her first ever teaching engagement multi-award winning commedia, clown and physical acting instructor Virginia Scott for a seven-week-long series of Commedia dell'Arte classes.

"Irreverent, vulgar, innocent, poetic and hilarious - discover the world of the Commedia dell'Arte and get up and under some of the most beautiful and expressive masks ever created!" Virginia Scott has been teaching since 2005 at programs such as Juilliard, NYU and Movement Theatre Studio. She is the co-founder with Christopher Bayes of The Funny School of Good Acting in New York City.

"These guys will change the way that you live in your body and will help you make more room for your talent and your fun. Study with them. Make a beautiful and hilarious mess," says Christopher Bayes, Head of Physical Acting, Yale School of Drama. And of the class, Artistic Director David Bridel explains, "We base our work in the discipline of clown because we believe that clowning embraces and celebrates the totality of the human experience and offers unparalleled freedom in art. We love to play!"

The Commedia dell'Arte classes will meet every Sunday from 1/11 through 2/22, 5pm-9pm. Classes will be held at Live Arts LA, Eagle Rock and the fee is $395, with discounts offered to those who have previously attended a Clown School class, as well as for those who invite their friends to join The Clown School's mailing list and Facebook and Twitter pages.
