Telenovela CHRISTMAS CAROL Gets World Premiere

By:

A classic cast of melodramatic Spanish soap opera characters find themselves living out one of the greatest classic stories of all time when Archway Theatre welcomes Force of Nature Productions original world premiere of "Telenovela Christmas Carol" 8 p.m. Fridays and Saturdays; 2 p.m. Sundays, Dec. 2 through Dec. 18. General admission tickets are $28.

Charles Dickens' immortal tale is twisted into a hilarious, over-the-top and passionate story about finding the holiday spirit, as the patriarch of a tequila empire is taught the true meaning of Christmas through the help of three outlandish ghosts. "Telenovela Christmas Carol" contains all of the passionate confrontations and melodramatic encounters of a telenovela series, paired with the endearing moments of a classic Scrooge story.

"The Archway Theatre likes to offer something different and irreverent on our stage each holiday season. This year we are thrilled to bring to our audiences this side-splitting comedic production," said Archway producing artistic director, Steven Sabel.

Written by Adam Neubauer and Sebastian Muñoz, "Telenovela Christmas Carol" Follows up on last year's sleeper hit production, "Telenovela," where Muñoz and Neubauer first introduced audiences to their zany cast of characters. This season they work some holiday magic as they throw those same characters - and some new ones - into the Dickens story line.

"Adam Neubauer knows how to pack a script with comedic punch. When you add that to Sebastian Muñoz's own personal anecdotes as a Latino male, the result is laugh-out-loud hilarity," Sabel said.

Passion, seduction, redemption, and even musical numbers ensue in this original work featuring an extensive cast of exceptional talent, including Jennifer Chun, Nicole Craig, Redetha Deason, Anatol Felsen, Brian Felsen, Bianca Flores, Gloria Galvan, Sam Horrilleno, Sarah Lightman, Sebastian Muñoz, Adam Neubauer, Adam Shows, Jessica Weiner, Anne Westcott and Leah Wasylik.

Archway Theatre is located at 10509 Burbank Blvd., where the NoHo Arts District meets the Burbank Studio District. Information: (818)980-PLAY (7529), or visit www.archwayla.com.
