THE LITTLE DOG LAUGHED Reopens at Zephyr Theatre Tonight, 8/17

By:

After a successful run at The Secret Rose Theatre in NoHo, Blazeco Productions' acclaimed staging of Douglas Carter Beane's Tony Award-nominated comedy The Little Dog Laughed reopens tonight, August 17 and runs through September 16 at Zephyr Theatre, 7456 Melrose Avenue in West Hollywood.

In The Little Dog Laughed, a hot young Hollywood actor, Mitchell, is up for the role of a lifetime. His agent, Diane, will do anything in her power to keep his "slight recurring case of homosexuality" under wraps. But then Alex, a gay-for-pay hustler, enters the scene, with a girlfriend and their own set of secrets. What are these four conflicted characters willing to give up and compromise for success?

"Little Dog Laughed" was nominated for a Tony Award in 2007 for Best New Play, and won a Best Actress Tony award for Julie White. It was also nominated for a GLAAD Media Award and Lucille Lortel Awards.

This show contains adult situations, on-stage smoking, drinking, and male nudity, and is not recommended for anyone under the age of 17.

Performances are Fridays and Saturdays at 8 p.m., and Sundays at 6 p.m., August 17 - September 16. Tickets are $30 general admission. $10 student rush tickets are available at the door with valid ID. For tickets, visit http://www.brownpapertickets.com/event/251209.

The Little Dog Laughed stars Bernadette Birkett, Trip Langley, Owen Martin and Laine Jennings. Directed by Jon Cortez, the design team for The Little Dog Laughed includes Carlo Maghirang (Production Set Design) Jose Raul Guzman (Set Dresser), Josh Holt (Lighting Design), Roxy Ramirez (Costumes), Rob Siegel (Sound Design). The Stage Manager is Melissa Gilleece, and the producer is Jon Cortez and Blazeco Productions.
