THE DEVIL AND DAISY JANE Comes To Hollywood

The Devil and Daisy Jane-a new rock musical is a modern Faustian tale of reality TV, record deals and pop-culture mania. The staged concert reading of this new musical comedy will be performed next week for the first time with a liveband.

The show is a recent addition to the Los Angeles Festival of New American Musicals, and is headed towards a full production this summer as part of the Festival.

Composer/lyricist/book writer Lisa Marinacci and book writer Jeremy Lewit (Brooklyn Boy, RETREAT FROM MOSCOW, Broadway) began writing the show in 2004. In 2007 they moved the project from New York City to Los Angeles and have been developing the show there ever since. As it turned out, Hollywood was the perfect setting for a musical about the price of fame. Robert Marra (of the recent Broadway World Award and Stage Scene L.A. Award winning CHESS IN CONCERT) directs the cast, with Brent Crayon (SNAPSHOTS with Stephen Schwartz, BUBBLE BOY THE MUSICAL) as music director.

Cast members include recording artist Harley Jay (RENT, Broadway & National Tour) , Neka Zang (WICKED, Los Angeles, San Francisco and Chicago) and Ovation Award Nominee Anthony Manough (JESUS CHRIST SU-PERSTAR, Broadway). Ovation Award Nominee Gina D'Acciaro, Sharyn Gabriel, Patrick Han-cock, Lisa Marinacci, Kyle Nudo, Michael Tauzin, Selah Victor, and Megan Yelaney round out the cast of zany characters and fame-hungry denizens of the devil himself.
