Stokastik Theatre Ensemble Presents ELEKTRA 11/12-12/11
Stokastik Theatre Ensemble will be presenting the second show of its debut 2011 season with a new translation of the classic Greek play, Elektra, by Sophocles from November 12th through December 11th at The Loft Ensemble in downtown Los Angeles.
The house of Atreus is in ruins. King Agamemnon is dead and his murderous wife, Klytemnestra, has a new lover. Their daughter Elektra wants justice. Her brother Orestes, revenge. This new translation takes Greek myth, Alice In Wonderland, and a Graphic Novel style and blends them all together with a couple gallons of blood. A new rule-breaking production of Sophocles' tragedy by the Stokastik Theater Ensemble breathes life into the age old story and is presented in the heart
of downtown L.A. Elektra follows the Stokastik's debut production of the postapocalyptic dark comedy Artifacts of Consequence. There will be music, there will be laughter, and there will be blood.
