Sardia Robinson's FROM A YARDIE TO A YANKEE Comes to LA, 2/15-22

By:

Hollywood actress Sardia Robinson's From a Yardie to a Yankee will play February 15th and 22nd at the Michael Woolson Studio in Los Angeles, Calif.

Jamaican American Hollywood actress Sardia Robinson, the creator of the acclaimed one woman show, From a Yardie to a Yankee, remembers walking over dead bodies to go to school, and not growing up with the basics, including running water while growing up in Jamaica. Though her childhood was riddled with poverty, low-self esteem and fear, she is using her gift of acting and storytelling to empower others who have had similar fates. According to Sardia, "I struggled as a child and as a young woman because I battled with low self esteem, faced a lot of loss and suffered from dyslexia. I was told I wouldn't succeed." Without little support, Sardia stayed determined to beat the odds and obtain an education and become and Hollywood actress. "Not only did I have to deal with dyslexia, but I was a single mom raising two boys, struggling to make ends meet," says Sardia.

Never one to give up, Sardia preserved and obtained a theater degree from Columbia College in Chicago, and perfected her acting skills.

After relocating to California, she wrote, produced and directed her inspiring one woman show, From a Yardie to a Yankee, which is garnering rave reviews from Hollywood executives. According to Hollywood director/producer Gregory Marquette, "An amazing show, filled with heart, drama, happiness, and hope. Sardia takes the audience through her humorous yet challenging transition from Jamaica to an aspiring actress/comedian who followed her dreams to America; passionately performed from the heart of a beautiful woman for all to see."

Motown's Mickey Stevenson also attests to Sardia's talent as an actress. "The moment Sardia hit the stage I was hooked. What a brilliant performance and performer. It's a shame she's not yet been discovered. I highly recommend "From a Yardie to a Yankee." A must see!"

Sardia Robinson is an acclaimed Hollywood actress, writer, comedienne and TV host. Sardia's other notable accomplishments in the field of entertainment include being the co-host to veteran actor Glynn Turman, interviewing then Governor of California (Arnold Schwarzenegger) for the NAACP. She also tours with the Caribbean Comedy Tour Group "The Jamaican and a Virgin,' and is a highly sought after comedienne who opens for various celebrities including the R&B group, The Whispers.
