By: Alyssa Holcomb
On the heels of their 'Best of Hollywood Fringe' Award for their sold-out headlining performances at the Outlaugh Comedy Festival/Hollywood Fringe Festival, STREEP TEASE: AN EVENING OF Meryl Streep MONOLOGUES, performed by an all-male cast returns for an extended run Aug. 4-25 at Theatre Asylum, announced by the show's creator & co-Executive Producer Roy Cruz. A celebratory, wicked, yeT Loving satire of scenes from the most unforgettable movies from one of our greatest contemporary actresses, STREEP TEASE is performed by an ensemble cast.
An homage to one of our most popular and enduring actresses, Meryl Streep's prodigious body of film work serves as the inspiration and fascination for STREEP TEASE, an all-male cast's re-interpretationof some of the revered actresses' most iconic scenes. In addition to THE IRON LADY, included are monologues from THE DEVIL WEARS PRADA, OUT OF AFRICA, SILKWOOD, THE FRENCH LIEUTENANT'S WOMAN, DOUBT, and THE STILL OF THE NIGHT, among others. Though drawn from the dramatic and comedic 'Canon of Cinema Streep,' all of the scenes evolve into a hilarious, outlandish, kooky and sometimes campy romp through Streep's film repertoire. The show is co-executive produced by Lorenz Esguerra and directed by Ezra Weisz. All performances are at 8:30PM. For more info, please visit www.theatreasylum-la.com
