Rubicon Theatre Company has announced what is expected to be the biggest and most extraordinary Kids for Kids Benefit Concert in the company's history for Saturday, December 29 at 7:00 p.m. at the theatre, located at 1006 E. Main Street in Ventura's Downtown Cultural District. More than 70 young people will be performing onstage or via video in an entertaining musical variety show that raises funds for scholarships for next summer's education and outreach participants.
Called THE CIRCLE OF LIFE, the show features students and former students, ages 11 to 30, singing and dancing to knockout Broadway hits, including "The Circle of Life" from The Lion King, "All I Need is the Girl" from Gypsy, "People" from Funny Girl, "Seasons of Love" from Rent, "Tonight" from West Side Story, "Sherry"/"Oh, What a Night" from Jersey Boys, "You Will be Found" from Dear Evan Hansen, and many more! The evening is directed by Brian McDonald, who developed Rubicon's education and outreach programs over a 15-year-period, and musical direction by MIRIAM ARICHEA. Both will be celebrated that evening for their long service to young artists in the region. A Ventura City Council member will present a new RISING STAR AWARD. And the performers will offer up a musical memorial to the late, great HELEN YUNKER.
Title sponsors for the event are JANET AND MARK L. GOLDENSON and the event is also produced in association with the Jack Oakie and Victoria Horne OAKIE FOUNDATION, represented by DAVID SONNE that evening.
Tickets range from $10 to $55 and are available at www.rubicontheatre.orgor by calling 805.667.2900.
Former Rubicon student TOBY TROPPER (currently appearing as Professor in Rubicon's sold-out hit production of South Pacific) serves as emcee for the evening. Rubicon graduates Daniel Brackett, Cassidy Craig, Jesse Graham and EMMA VIELBIG will make special appearances, as will new Outreach Co-Director Beverly Ward, whose credits include Anastasia on Broadway and leading roles in National Tours of Billy Elliott, Crazy for You, Sugar Babies, and others.
Other cast members include NEVAEH ASPURIA, ALIZA BARROCA BECK, LAL BESIRE, ABIGAIL BLOCK, TROY BRAUN, MADDI CALDWELL, RILEY CONRAD, CADEN CRAIG, ANNA DEMARIA, MADDIE GAMBON, STARLA GIANNATTI, MOLLY GLOBERMAN, Sam Gordon, Gus Graham, SAMANTHA HIRSCHHORN, KATY JARVIS, JULIET JOHNSON, JADE KNOWLES, SERYOZHA LaPORTE, MIRIAM LARSON, GABE LEMUS, CHANNING McCLURE, ZACHARY MEADE, SARAH MERNIA, MIMI MIZE, KAT MONZON, JULIETTE NASARENKO, SAM PIO, LOUIS SANTIA, LAREN SHERMAN, TESSA SHINDEN, KRISTI SHINN, SETH STEVENSON, MOLLY STURGEON, REN TALLENT, NORBERT TAN, ASHLYNN VAGLICA, TIFFANY VIESCA, TALIA WALSH, NICO WICKLIN, CLAIRE WINCH and ANDILYN ZIEGLER.

That policy makes the continuation of the Rubicon Summer Youth Program vitally important to the students and families of Ventura County.
