Promenade Playhouse Announces Big Changes, Big Improvements & Upcoming Season

By:
In spite of all the ongoing controversy and uproar with with small Theatre, The Promenade Playhouse is not letting that slow down their future plans. Founder, Artistic Director and CEO, Natalia Lazarus, along with Managing Director Danette Garrelts are making plans to improve The Promenade Playhouse, with some major renovations to the interior as well as looking ahead to an exciting Fall, Winter and Spring line-up. The improvements include new and additional seating, new carpet, and new lighting equipment. The main donor is a client of the Conservatory and wishes to remain anonymous.

While some Theatre's in Los Angeles seem to be at a standstill (in sort of a 'wait-and-see pattern'), and few have actually closed their doors, The Promenade Playhouse is moving forward, stronger than ever.

THE PROMENADE PLAYHOUSE SEASON WILL PRESENT A SERIES ON HOW ART AND THEATRE MEET

A PICASSO by Jeffrey Hatcher - Opening Sept. 25th - Oct. 4th, 2015

The poignant production of "A PICASSO" will return to Los Angeles for a limited engagement, presented by The Promenade Playhouse. Starring Natalia Lazarus and well-known French actor, Charles Fathy and is produced and directed by Steven Ullman and Natalia Lazarus. Opening in English on September 25th to October 3rd. There will be one special performance, in French, which will close out the limited run on October 4th, 2015.

A true psychological cat-and-mouse game psychological thriller. Picasso needs to save his art from being destroyed in a bonfire and Mademoiselle Fischer, ostensibly a Nazi, but really a Jewess, needs "a" Picasso to save her life.

The company has also vowed to produce the play in French, and will perform in Paris, France, in the early winter of 2015; and then in Spanish, when Lazarus will take the Production to Mexico and Spain, in 2016.

SCHEDULED TO OPEN WINTER 2015

MARIE ANTOINETTE: The Color of Flesh - A play about the French painter, Elizabeth Vigee Le Brun, the portraitist to Marie Antoinette, and European Royalty. By the time of the French Revolution she had made 1 million francs and was one of the first female painters accepted into L'Academie Royale de Peinture.

TWO SHOWS TO OPEN IN SPRING 2016

CAMILLE AND RODIN - A play that traces the great French sculptress in the time period when she goes mad.

DENNIS WILSON'S DREAM: A Beach Boys Tragedy - Opening in the Spring 2016
