Photo Flash: Songwriting Team Behind Movie Musical GRIND Make Los Angeles Debut
The award-winning New York-based songwriting team of Selda Sahin and Derek Gregor made their much-anticipated Los Angeles debut at Rockwell: Table & Stage on Tuesday, April 21, 2015. Check out photos from the show and afterparty below!
Sahin and Gregor are best known for writing the songs for the hit 2014 short musical film, "Grind," which starred Broadway favorite Anthony Rapp (RENT, IF/THEN). The duo's West Coast debut show featured songs from "Grind" in addition to new work they've recently recorded in LA.
On hand to perform for their fans were Eric Michael Krop (B'way: GODSPELL), American Idol alums Natalie Weiss (B'way: LES MISERABLES, EVERYDAY RAPTURE) and Devyn Rush, actor/singer Blake McIver (Bravo's THE PEOPLE'S COUCH), pop vocalist Gabrielle Taryn, Rockwell favorite Kyra Selman, and up-and-coming musical theatre performer Emily Schultheis. The band included Derek Gregor on piano, keyboards, and acoustic guitar; Mark Byers on electronics; and B'way vets Joshua Mark Samuels on drums, Jerry DeVore on bass, and Eric B. Davis on guitar.
