Actress Peri Gilpin and comedian and author Stevie Dupin (a.k.a. Stevie D.) are among performers lined up for the 15th annual production of "Les Girls," a star-studded, cabaret-style fundraiser to benefit the National Breast Cancer Coalition Fund (NBCC), to take place in Hollywood on Sunday, October 11.

It will be the second time the pair has teamed up for the event, which consists of risqué song parodies and dances. Last year, Gilpin and Dupin performed a spoof of "Let's Duet" from the movie "Walk Hard." Video of that performance can be seen here: https://youtu.be/u0WpXR0aRvQ.

"Besides a ton of fun on show night, 'Les Girls' was and still is a labor of lovethat we all do for our own reasons," Gilpin said. "For me it's about love and the gift of life."

Gilpin, who is best-known as "Roz" on NBC's "Frasier" and "Principal Taylor" on "Mr. Robinson," co-founded "Les Girls" partly as a result of losing her mother to cancer, as well as other circumstances that raised her awareness about the disease. This year's "Les Girls" honoree is philanthropist and breast cancer survivor Joyce Brandman, co-founder of the Saul and Joyce Brandman Breast Center at Cedars-Sinai Medical Center.

This year, Gilpin and Dupin plan to spoof Dolly Parton's and Kenny Rogers' hit song "Islands in the Stream."

"I remember seeing Kenny and Dolly sing 'Islands' on TV as a kid," Dupin said. "They looked so sweet and innocent, but I listened closer to the lyrics and it's really a naughty song. We have made it even dirtier, while keeping our country naiveté'."

"I love performing with Stevie D. because he's hilarious and we have a great time getting in touch with our Southern roots," Gilpin added. "He also knows what it's like to get the diagnosis you don't want, and still go on and even write a funny book about it. I am in awe of his spirit, guts and talent."

Dupin survived prostate cancer at a young age, and wrote a memoir about his experience, titled "The Trans Am Diaries: A Hillbilly's Road Trip from Stand Up Comedy to Cancer...and Back Again" (Headline Books).

Other celebrities scheduled to perform at "Les Girls" include Bryan Batt, Emily Bergl, Chaz Bono, Barrett Foa, Peri Gilpin, Chris Gorham, Harriet Harris, Josh Lawson, Eric McCormack, Andrea Navedo, Ana Ortiz, June Diane Raphael, Brit Shaw, Abigail Spencer, Tracie Thoms and Steven Weber.

"Les Girls" will take place at Avalon Hollywood, 1735 North Vine Street, Hollywood, CA 90028. The event is sold out, but donations to the National Breast Cancer Coalition Fund are being accepted. For information, visit www.breastcancerdeadline2020.org.
