By: BWW News Desk
To conclude its triumphant eleventh season, Men Alive - The Orange County Gay Men's Chorus will present VON TRAPPED!, a uniquely entertaining, wholly original tribute to the Tony- and Oscar-winning musical THE SOUND OF MUSIC... the way only Men Alive can do it!
Under the direction of Founder and Artistic Director Rich Cook and Assistant Director Bob Gunn, the 130-plus-voiced chorus will present three performances of VON TRAPPED! tonight, July 20 (Opening Night) at 8pm and Saturday, July 21 at both 3pm and 8pm. All shows are performed at the Irvine Barclay Theatre located at 4242 Campus Drive in Irvine.Arguably one of the world's most beloved musicals of all time—both as a Broadway stage smash and a silver-screen global blockbuster—THE SOUND OF MUSIC (and its memorable song book penned by Richard Rodgers and Oscar Hammerstein III) will be revived and transformed into a one-of-a-kind extravaganza featuring moving orchestrations, genre-crossing remixes, fabulous costumes, buoyant choreography, and even a few rowdy, yodel-loving goats!
