Nomi Lyonns Performs Benefit for The Well in the Desert 4/9

By:

Set to music that you are sure to be familiar, Nomi Lyonns with directors Stephen Foster and Chuck Pellitier have put together an evening of fun to benefit The Well In The Desert on Saturday, April 9th. The Canadian-born actress and singer who has performed all over her homeland as well as the Los Angeles cabaret circuit, is often compared to a few of her idols: Barbra Streisand, Bette Midler, and Judy Garland. Directors Foster and Pellitier are the same duo who wrote the musical "The Green Room" which is receiving critical acclaim across the US.

Ms. Lyonns' past shows have benefitted many causes to which she has close attachments, primarily those for human rights, the environment, and animals. The Well In The Desert was her first choice when deciding who would be the recipient for this one show only at the deserts only New York style cabaret club, Blame It On Midnight. The Well In The Desert provides daily nutritious hot meals, emergency food assistance, weekly supplemental food distribution, and access to community services to those affected by poverty, including the working poor, the homeless, seniors, the handicapped and others in need throughout the west end of the Coachella Valley. "Our mission fuels programs for poverty prevention, direct services for poverty intervention, and organized efforts to advocate for the poor" says Arlene Rosenthal - President of 'The Well', who was very pleased when she learned of Nomi's generous offer to perform on their behalf.

Joining Nomi will be Los Angeles musical director Ron Snyder on piano along with a trio with bass and drums. Show time for the Saturday, April 9, 2011 event is 9 PM with doors opening at 6 PM with full dinner, appetizer and cocktail service. Tickets will be sold at the door for $15 or through Brown Paper Tickets on line for $10 plus a small processing fee. Blame It On Midnight is located in The Courtyard Plaza next to Regal Cinemas at 777 E. Tahquitz Canyon Way in Palm Springs. Reservations for dinner only may be made at 760-323-1200.
