Experience A CHRISTMAS CAROL like you never have before when three amazing actors, using only the original words of Charles Dickens, give this classic story a vibrant new life. Tiny Tim, Bob Cratchit, Marley's Ghost, Scrooge and the Spirits of Christmas Past, Present and Future all make their appearance as the three actors guide us through the story - sometimes as narrators, sometimes as storytellers, and sometimes as characters. This original adaptation is presented by the award-winning Grove Theater Center at GTC Burbank from November 28 to December 20. Tickets are available at www.gtc.org or by calling 1.800.838.3006.

"I wanted to get back to 'A CHRISTMAS CAROL's' storytelling roots," says GTC Artistic Director Kevin Cochran who adapted the tale. "To give people a sense of what it must have been like to hear Charles Dickens present the story to an audience as he did many times; yet, also keep the excitement of Scrooge's interactions with Marley's Ghost and the Christmas Spirits."

The cast includes Jenna Augen, winner of the 2014 UK Theatre Award for Supporting Performance for her role in Bad Jews (which she subsequently performed on the West End); Broadway veteran and Ovation Award Nominee David Allen Jones; and established commercial and film actor Frank Simons. All actors appear courtesy of Actors' Equity Association. The set and costumes are by three time Ovation nominee Leonard Ogden. Lighting is by David Darwin who received a 2014 Ovation nomination for his design. Sound by Hunter Stephenson. The show is directed by GTC Artistic Director Kevin Cochran (multiple Ovation, LA Weekly, and OC Weekly Award nominations and wins).

The play is presented as a special program of Grove Theater Center's New Play Initiative. Previous New Play Initiative projects include "Eternal Equinox" (which played Off-Broadway at 59e59 Theaters), "Blake...da Musical!" (LA Ovation Award for Best New Musical), "Straight Up with a Twist" (Ovation nomination for Best Solo Performance & 5 month run in NYC at The Players Theater), "R.R.R.E.D." (four LA Weekly nominations and a special event at the New York Musical Theater Workshop), "Bobby & Matt" (part of the 15th annual International Fringe Festival of New York City) and "Film Chinois" (Ovation Award for Best New Play).

"A CHRISTMAS CAROL" opens Saturday, November 28 and runs through Sunday, December 20. Performances are Friday & Saturday at 8 pm and Sunday at 3 pm. Tickets are $34.50 ($29.50 for Burbank Residents and $24.50 for Students and Seniors). All performances are at GTC Burbank, 1111-b West Olive Avenue. To purchase tickets and for more information, go to www.gtc.org or call 1.800.838.3006. The show is appropriate for ages 9 to 95.
