Nine O'Clock Players to Open 2013-14 Season with SNOW WHITE, 10/27-11/3

By:

The multi-award winning NINE O'CLOCK PLAYERS have announced the first show of their 2013-2014 season and 83rd year of bringing extraordinary family theatre to Southern California with a magical musical look at the timeless classic, SNOW WHITE, book, music and lyrics by Carol Weiss and directed by Todd Nielsen. SNOW WHITE will preview on Sunday, October 27 and will open on Sunday, November 3 at 2pm and run through Sunday, November 24th at the Assistance League Theatre, 1367 N. St. Andrews Place in Hollywood.

In this magical musical version of the classic fairy tale SNOW WHITE, the Wizard grants one wish to each of three sisters. One sister wished to be a witch with magical powers. The second sister wanted to become the most beautiful Queen in the whole world and the third sister simply wanted to get married and have children. Everything was going smoothly until the third sister had a lovely baby girl named Snow White, who was sent to live with the beautiful but evil Queen. The evil queen hated the little girl and forced her to do all the dirtiest and most demeaning chores in the castle.

The Queen went about her business of being the most beautiful queen in all the realm until one day something changed. Usually when she asked her mirror "Am I not the fairest of us all?" the mirror replied in the positive. But on that fateful day, the Mirror answered, "In all the world, and under the sun, you are the fairest...but for one." Uh-oh! That is when the trouble started. When the evil queen found out that the one who was more beautiful was none other than the lowly Snow White, the queen determined to get rid of her and reclaim the title as the fairest of them all.

This musical has it all: the poisoned apple, a beautiful princess, a handsome prince, a fearsome witch, a magic mirror plus the added feature of seven colorful and funny dwarfs.

Come and see for yourself if Snow White triumphs over the Queen and finds her prince. We think you know the answer!

SNOW WHITE will preview on Sunday, October 27 at 2pm and will open on Sunday, November 3 at 2pm and run through Sunday, November 24th at the Assistance League Theatre, 1367 N. St. Andrews Place in Hollywood.

Performances are Saturdays and Sundays at 2pm. Ticket prices are $12; Special group rates and birthday parties available. For tickets, please call 323-469-1970 or visit www.nineoclockplayers.com to purchase tickets online or to view complete schedule.
