NOW WHAT? to Play Hollywood Fringe Festival

By:

From the creators of nothing you've ever heard of comes NOW WHAT?, a collection of one-act plays about life's unexpected, yet unavoidable, punch-you-in-the-face moments.

Ranging from big, transformative events (oops, I might be pregnant! Help, I've been wrongly convicted of a crime!) to smaller inconveniences that can throw you off your game (why is there NEVER ANY PARKING IN THIS NEIGHBORHOOD when I'm late?!), these six short plays will remind you that no matter how hard you may try to organize and plan, the universe always has other ideas. And sometimes, the universe can be a dick!

No one knows that better than the three ladies behind this world-premiere production. When writer/directors Rachel Brethauer, Kara Costello, and Celeste Klaus graduated from the Loyola Marymount School of Film and Television last May, they all asked themselves the same question - Now What? With a stack of unread scripts waiting to be produced and no buyers biting, they decided to join forces Captain Planet-style to take charge of their fates. With their powers combined, Racekar Studios was born. Sometimes you have to get all up in the universe's face and say, "Screw you, we're doing this anyway!"

NOW WHAT? will be the first production under the Racekar Studios banner and will work to prove that anyone, even a Hollywood newbie, has the power to create and make their voice heard.

So come support these ladies at the Actors Company, located at 916A N Formosa Ave, Los Angeles, CA 90046, where NOW WHAT? will take the stage for a five-performance run from June 7-28. Watch as their characters wrestle with a slew of Now Whats? such as running out of beer at the worst possible time, turning thirty, and what happens after you say I do. Because we've all had the opportunity to steer into the skid, run away and hide, or just stare, slack-jawed at the sheer ridiculousness of life.
