Mick Berry Appears In KEITH MOON: THE REAL ME At Hudson Theatre Mainstage Following a critically acclaimed run in New Orleans, Keith Moon: The Real Me will arrive at the Hudson Theatre Mainstage in Hollywood on Friday, March 23 for a limited four-week engagement. Written and performed by Mick Berry with songs by Pete Townshend, the music director is Frank Simes, and the show is directed by Nancy Carlin. The limited engagement will continue through April 15 only.

Keith Moon: The Real Me explodes on the stage with the turmoil and excitement of the wildest drummer in rock and roll history. A living legend during his lifetime, Keith Moon still stands as the pinnacle of rock-star extremism - both in life and in music. The show explores Moon's state of mind as he attempts to save himself from the unbearable burden of living up to (or down to) his self-created legend of 'Moon the Loon.' As Moon attempts to save himself, he takes the audience on a journey through his early struggles, joining The Who, and their rise as one of the world's greatest rock bands. By the show's end, the audience intimately knows the man behind the myth - his acute vulnerability and insecurity, and his struggle to escape the ever-looming rock and roll crash landing. Contains explicit language and adult themes of drug use and sexuality. For more, visit https://youtu.be/QO3dMsL3vFM.

Said Patrick Thomas on Talkin' Broadway, "Berry is a powerful, skilled drummer, and recreates (with almost perfect accuracy) Moon's brilliant drumming ... a touching if ultimately tragic story." Steve Murray at For All Events said, "A tour de force performance ... Berry is incandescent as Moon ... Berry's acting is as close as can be to a real historical figure." And from Sam Hurwitt at Marin Independent Journal, "Mick Berry doesn't just tell the story ... he also plays Moon's drum parts on some of the band's biggest hits. Wonderfully dynamic." The San Francisco Bay Area Theatre Critics Circle nominated Keith Moon: The Real Me for its 42nd Annual 'Excellence in Solo Performance' Award in 2017.

San Francisco resident Mick Berry has been cited by the San Francisco Chronicle as a 'Local Phenom.' He has previously written and performed three critically acclaimed solo shows: What's My Mantra?, Dad Fought Hitler, the Bottle & Me, and Beats Working (A Young Man's Showbiz Journey from Insecurity to Low Self Esteem). He has worked with SF, Marin, and California Shakespeare, California Conservatory Theatre, and San Francisco Mime Troupe. Berry is the author of three books, teaches drum lessons, and is a drummer in several popular SF bands.

Keith Moon: The Real Me opens on Friday, March 23, at 8pm. The regular performance schedule is Friday and Saturday at 8pm and Sunday at 3pm through April 15 only. Tickets are $25 in advance and $30 at the door and may be purchased online at www.plays411.com/keithmoon or by telephone at (323) 965-9996.
