Media City Ballet Hosts Open Rehearsal

Media City Ballet will host an Open Rehearsal for members of the press and invited guests.  Notables who will be in attendance include:  Roland Armstorff (Media City Ballet Board Member); Natalie Garrotto (San Francisco Opera and Media City Ballet Board Member); Roberta Laune (Ballet Russe de Monte Carlo) and her husband, Bob Blank; Charles Maple (Director and Choreographer for The Maple Youth Ballet; American Ballet Theatre); Dorothy Matsie (Ballet Russe de Monte Carlo) and her husband, Ken Wade; Paul Maure (Grand Ballet de Monte Carlo); Natasha Middleton (Artistic Director and Choreographer of Media City Ballet); Patricia Peters (Ballet Russe de Monte Carlo) and her husband Walt Monczka; Cindy Pease (President, Board of Directors, Media City Ballet); Ruben Tonoyan (Ballet Master, Media City Ballet); Andrei Tremaine (Ballet Russe de Monte Carlo) and his wife Hiroko Tremaine; Tom Pease (Media City Ballet Board Member); and Elmarie Wendel (Ballet Russe Remembered Producer).

An Open Rehearsal for invited guests and members of the press for Media City Ballet's upcoming Seventh Season Opener, "Ballet Russe Remembered," including: Alexander Borodin's "Polovtsian Dances" from "Prince Igor" and selections from Carl Maria von Weber's "Le Spectre de la Rose;" Alexander Glazunov's "Raymonda" Variations; Nicolai Rimsky-Korsakov's "Shehérézade" and Jacques Offenbach's "Le Can-Can" from "Gaîté Parisienne."  The Maple Youth Ballet, based in Irvine, CA, will appear as a Guest Ballet Company performing George Balanchine's "Valse-Fantaisie," which features a windswept pattern of dancing in waltz rhythms, with music by Mikhail Glinka and costumes by Karinska.
 
The rehearsal will take place at Media Dance Centre; 237 East Palm Avenue; Burbank, CA  91502 on Sunday, April 20, 2008 from 2:00 – 5:00 p.m. for members of the press and invited guests.

Members of the General Public can purchase tickets to "Ballet Russe Remembered," to be presented on Sunday, April 27, 2008 at 7:30 p.m. at the Alex Theatre; 216 N.
