MISERABLE WITH AN OCEAN VIEW to Play The Whitefire Theatre
Howard Skora in association with the Whitefire Theatre present "Miserable with an Ocean View", a comedy written and produced by Howard Skora, directed by Jim Fall. Jeff Shapiro has been going through a really tough time - - a failed career, failed relationships and financial ruin. But things are about to get much worse. After an unfortunate accident, Jeff must move back to Long Island to take care of his wheelchair-bound mother from hell, who can no longer speak (played by Oscar-nominee Patty McCormack). Jeff has one last thing to do before she kicks the bucket and he just can't muster the courage. But, he gets more than he bargained for when a talking French Clown doll long stashed away in a closet, starts providing therapist-like advice. As the Clown suggests more and more extreme measures, Jeff's sanity starts to unravel. But with the help of his hyper-manic, stressed-out sister who is also Long Island's worst interior decorator and his Crossfit-loving moronic brother, Jeff just might pull it together in time, in this laugh-out-loud comedy about love, death and taking control of one's life.
The cast includes the talents of Patty McCormack ("Frost-Nixon", "The Bad Seed"), Paul Elia, Elizabeth Regen, Drew Droege, and Alex Skuby ("Bones", "King of Queens").
The play runs Saturday evenings at 8:00pm, June 6th through July 18th (Dark July 4th).
