Los Angeles LGBT Center Launches Campaign to Monitor Trump Administration's First 100 Days, Mobilize Response to LGBT Community Threats
Today the Los Angeles LGBT Center launched 100 Days and Me, a community engagement campaign to protect the health, freedom, and well-being of LGBT people. Visitors to 100DaysAndMe.org will find information about federal legislative and policy threats to LGBT people during the first 100 days of the Trump Administration. They can also register to receive updates and take advantage of resources and tools to respond to actions that would harm LGBT people.
"The Los Angeles LGBT Center is the nation's largest social safety net for LGBT people, receiving more than 42,000 visits a month from some of the most vulnerable in our community, including homeless youth and seniors," said Center CEO Lorri L. Jean. "Under the new administration and congress, funding for many of our health and social servicesand others like them around the countryare at risk, as are the people who depend on them. More than that, our basic civil rights and equality may be at stake. We need people to stay informed, and we need people ready to respond."
Initially, 100 Days and Me will focus on threats in several categories, including: health care, youth, seniors, equality, immigration, transgender, housing, women, education, hate crimes, and domestic violence. Resources will include issue briefs, action recommendations, and tools to share information on social media. Supporters who sign up with the campaign will receive regular updates and notifications.
