Little Fish Theatre to Present TIME STANDS STILL, 8/8-9/6

By:

Little Fish Theatre today announced the opening of the next show of its thirteenth season, Donald Margulies' captivating drama, TIME STANDS STILL.

Following a brush with death delivered by a roadside bomb while on location as a photographic journalist, Sarah Goodwin has an emotional recovery in store that is every bit as real as her physical injuries. As she and her life companion, correspondent James Dodd, struggle to make sense of their lives stateside, in the wake of their war-torn realities; they are joined by their editor and his much-younger girlfriend, who are entering a life-changing season of their own.

The strong-willed and emotionally raw Sarah is played by Karen Harrison, and Richard Perloff plays James, her boyfriend and aspiring husband. Tony Chiccetti and Dana Pollak will play the second couple. While Harrison is a new face for Little Fish audiences, Perloff, Chiccetti and Pollak may be recognized from their roles in previous shows, including CHAPTER TWO last season.

"When something devastating happens, how do you put the pieces back together? Boldly? Cautiously? Do you cling to what's familiar or do you start all over again?" asks director Patrick Vest. "And what really makes up a life? A family? A career? These are the question this play explores beautifully." Vest directed the critically acclaimed and highly popular recent production of CHAPTER TWO at Little Fish Theatre.

TIME STANDS STILL will run Fridays and Saturdays August 8 through September 6, 2014. A Sunday matinee is scheduled for 2pm on August 24, after which the creative team will be available for 10 to 15 minutes for post-show discussion with the audience.

Founded in 2002, Little Fish Theatre presents classic and contemporary plays in an intimate setting on Centre Street in downtown San Pedro. Producing eleven plays each year for a one-room 65-seat venue, Little Fish delivers the quintessential close-up theatrical experience, where audience and performers share space and sight-lines, making for eruptive laughter, highly-charged action and palpable emotion.
