Little Fish Theatre Announces Stunning 2018 Season

Little Fish Theatre has announced the eleven productions which will comprise the company's stunning 2018 Season.

Pick of the Vine - the perennial best-selling festival of the finest short plays ranging from comedies to dramas to thrillers from around the country, running January 12 through February 17

Quartet by Ronald Harwood - In a home for retired opera singers, a yearly concert to celebrate Verdi's birthday is disrupted by an ex-member of the quartet, the ultimate diva, who plays havoc with the equilibrium in a hilarious way, running March 9 through April 7

The Balcony Scene by Wil Calhoun - An anxiety-ridden historian and a diehard optimist meet on their adjoining balconies and form a friendship that sets their two worlds on a collision course, running March 15 through April 5

Mending Fences by Norm Foster - Marital upset drives a son to seek answers from the father who shaped his life in this human drama that is relevant to anyone who has ever been a parent, a son, or a daughter, running April 27 through May 26

Provenance by Elyzabeth Gregory Wilder - In this magical story, a librarian's self-imposed isolation on top of a misty mountain is broken by a worldly woman on a quest to read a list of 100 books, but when the final book on her list turns up missing she refuses to leave, running May 3 through May 24

The Foreigner by Larry Shue - A pathologically shy Englishman, accompanying his friend on a trip to rural Georgia and overcome with the fear of having to make small talk, takes on the persona of an exotic foreigner and learns more than he should about the inhabitants of the small town, running June 15 through July 14

Plaza Suite by Neil Simon - Quintessential Neil Simon stories about Suite 719 at the infamous New York City Plaza Hotel and the people who inhabit it: a not so blissfully married couple, a movie producer and his old flame, and a nervous bride and family, running August 3 through September 1

Sea Marks by Gardner McKay - A fisherman on a remote Irish island falls in love with a woman from Liverpool he meets at a wedding, and romance blossoms in this play that beautifully captures the heartache of long-distance love, running August 9 through August 30

On Clover Road by Steven Dietz - At an abandoned motel on a desolate American road, a mother meets with a cult deprogrammer, believing she will be reunited with her runaway daughter, but what happens instead - in this smart, harrowing, edge-of-your-seat thriller - is something that will shock her to her core, running September 21 through October 20

Bloody Poetry by Howard Brenton - In 1816 at the Villa Diodati, the scandalous summer ménage of the Shelleys, the "mad, bad, and dangerous to know" Lord Byron, and Claire Clairmont take refuge from the political upheaval of their respective countries, and turn creative writing into a collective practice of subversive intent and revolutionary ambition, running September 27 through October 18

A Christmas Cactus by Eliot Byerrum - Christmas is about to get interesting for Cactus O'Riley, a sassy private eye with the holiday blues, as she solves mysteries, delivers small miracles and takes a second chance on love and sleuthing, running November 16 through December 15

Little Fish Theatre's Seventeenth Season showcases the perfect combination of established classics, contemporary comedies, spellbinding dramas, and captivating chillers. With playwrights such as the Emmy and Tony Award-winning Neil Simon, Emmy Award nominated television writer Wil Calhoun, Drama Critics Award Winner Gardner McKay, and international and regional theatre favorites Norm Foster and Steven Dietz, the excitement about LFT's 2018 season is palpable.

Directing these productions are LFT Company Members Holly Baker-Kreiswirth, Stephanie Coltrin, David Graham, Richard Perloff, James Rice, Margaret Schugt, and Bill Wolski alongside new-to-LFT director Marlee Delia. Overseeing the production aspects is Tara Donovan, the Managing Director at Little Fish Theatre. Celebrating their 17th season and still at the helm of LFT are founding members and Artistic Directors Lisa Coffi and Suzanne Dean.

Founded in 2002 as an artists' ensemble, Little Fish Theatre presents classic and contemporary plays in an intimate setting on Centre Street in downtown San Pedro.
