LEGALLY BLONDE Opens at the Maverick Theater Tonight
By: BWW News Desk
The Maverick Theater presents the Orange County premiere of Legally Blonde: The Musical, based on Amanda Brown's novel and the 2001 film starring Reese Witherspoon. The musical stage version premiered in San Francisco in 2007 before transferring to Broadway, where it ran for more than 600 performances. It has repeatedly toured throughout the U.S. and played for nearly three years on London's West End, where it was awarded the Laurence Olivier Award for Best New Musical in 2011.
The plot revolves around the adventures of Elle Wood, sorority queen and fashion merchandising
major. After her boyfriend dumps her, she dries her tears, hits the books and sets her sights on
Harvard Law, where she discovers that being true to oneself never goes out of style.
Legally Blonde: The Musical opens tonight, April 5th and runs through May 25th. Performances are 8:00 p.m. Fri. and Sat., 4:00 p.m. Sun. Tickets are $25 general, $15 for students with a current I.D. Tickets may be purchased online at www.mavericktheater.com or by calling 714-526-7070. The Maverick Theater is located at 110 E. Walnut, Fullerton, CA 92832, across from the Amtrak station in historic Downtown Fullerton.
