Actor, Writer, and Spoken Word Poet Gabriela Ortega returns to the Hollywood Fringe festival with the debut of her solo performance Las Garcia, a poignantly funny piece about two women of the same bloodline, fighting to find themselves through love, war, and their innermost desires. Directed by Alex Alpharaoh, Ortega explores what it means to be an independent woman in a dependent world, where conflict is always looming around the corner. Las García begins its run on Sunday, June 5th - June 25th at Asylum @ Studio C Artists.

ABOUT GABRIELA ORTEGA

Gabriela was born and raised in the Dominican Republic and is an LA bases Actress, writer and Spoken word poet. She is currently pursuing a Bachelor of Fine Arts in Acting at the University of Southern California.

A proud Latina, Feminist and above all: a collaborator, Gabriela is thrilled to be returning to the Hollywood Fringe in 2016 with her own show. She is excited to bring her stories to life in her show inspired by her life and heritage in Santo Domingo.

In 2014, Gabriela helped develop "The New Artist's Festival" at the 13th Street Repertory Company in NYC. As part of the festival, she helped produce 7 original one-act plays (2 which she directed, 1 which she wrote), as well as two MainStage productions (Rabbit Hole, Dark Play/Stories for Boys).

Some of her most recent roles include: HOMEFREE by Lisa Loomer at The Road*, SPIT! at HFF15, The House of Bernarda Alba with the Bilingual Foundation of The Arts (Magdalena), Grey Street, The Musical (Off-Broadway Workshop, Ensemble) and Blossoming readings with The Vagrancy.
