L.A. Theatre Works on the Air Presents Odyssey of Love 2/12

Beginning Saturday, February 12, L.A. Theatre Works' Radio Theatre Series will air Odyssey of Love by Lucy Parham, featuring Martin Jarvis, Rosalind Ayres, and Lucy Parham on piano. The broadcast can be heard locally in Southern California on Saturday from 10 pm to midnight on 89.3 KPCC, and can also be streamed on demand at www.latw.org/.

Mixing the colorful letters of Franz Liszt with some of his most ecstatic piano music, Odyssey of Love depicts his tempestuous relations with two fascinating women. Pianist Lucy Parham, who compiled Liszt's letters and music for Odyssey of Love, first came to public attention on winning the BBC Young Musician of the Year, and has since performed extensively throughout the world. The broadcast also includes a feature on Liszt's legendary concerts and the rise of "Lisztomania"with Robert Winter, Professor of Performance Practice at the UCLA Herb Alpert School of Music and Presidential Chair in Music and Interactive Arts.
