The focus is on fun at International City Theatre's Encore 2013, taking place in the Pacific Ballroom of the newly renovated, state-of-the-art Long Beach Arena.

International City Theatre is the first local organization to host an event at the new Arena, a facility described by professionals in the events industry as the most spectacular of its kind.

"This venue is definitely one-of-a-kind in the world," explains architect John Fisher. "Its flexibility is unlimited subject to the imagination."

ICT's annual black tie fundraising extravaganza will show off the Arena's unique design and technology to full advantage, reinvigorating the oldEncore blueprint with a fresh emphasis on social engagement.

Guest emcee for the evening is Lacy Phillips (ICT's smash hit production of Ain't Misbehavin'), and live entertainment is by The Fabulous Temptations and The Dance Kings. Get ready for a night of dancing, gourmet dinner, live auction, awards ceremony and dessert buffet. Long Beach Vice Mayor Robert Garcia, Councilmember Suja Lowenthal, and community leaders Dr. Matthew and Roberta Jenkins will be presented with ICT's Crystal Arts and Humanitarian Award in honor of their significant contributions to arts, culture and education in Long Beach.

All proceeds from the event will benefit International City Theatre's productions and outreach programs, including a free Saturday Family Theatre Series, Senior Outreach, Summer Youth Conservatory, Performing Arts & Classroom Teaching (PACT), Student to Stage and Internship Program.

Encore 2013 takes place in the Pacific Ballroom of the Long Beach Arena, located at 330 East Seaside Way in Long Beach, tonight, Oct. 12. Festivities get started at 5:30 pm.

Tickets to Encore 2013 are $185.00 - $250.00, of which a portion is tax-deductible. For reservations, call (562) 436-4610. or go to www.InternationalCityTheatre.org.
