Hayworth Presents 4 Solo Shows this Summer

The Hayworth Theater will present Flying Solo for the Summer, four solo shows written and performed by Award winning performers beginning with Meisner by Jarrett on June 30, at its download Los Angeles location.

Described as "a tour de force one-man play," Meisner features Jim Jarrett as the legendary acting teacher Sanford Meisner, the man whom David Mamet called "the first true genius I had ever met in my life." 

Hand picked by Meisner to carry on his teaching, Jarrett spent four years with the legendary acting teacher as Meisner's protégé and teacher in training. Soon after, Jarrett appeared in featured films, commercial, and TV series. In 1994 Jarrett was introduced to Vincent, Leonard Nimoy's one man show about Van Gogh, and has spent the last years touring his acclaimed production throughout the world.  Meisner, running through August 26th, plays Saturdays at 8:00 p.m. and Sundays at 7:00 p.m.

Next up in the Flying Solo lineup is Men Fake Foreplay, Michael Dugan's hilarious exploration of issues that block a man's ability to achieve romantic love and intimacy. Men Fake Foreplay opens Tuesday July 10 and plays on Thursday and Fridays at 8:00 p.m. through August 24. 

Frank Sinatra F@#ked Up My life by John Ciccolini,  follows John in his search for the romance  he hears about in all of those great songs as  "Old Blue Eyes" himself comes to guide him down the path to true love. Opens Wednesday July 11 and plays Tuesdays and Wednesdays at 8:00 p.m. through August 22.

With 4 Special engagements of Sometimes I Cry by Sheryl Lee Ralph, using words, movement and song to portray a cast of diverse characters ranging from a Jamaican transsexual to an HIV infected business executive, examining the female struggle while coping with HIV and AIDS.  Opens Sunday July 8 and plays August 12, 19, 26th Sunday Matinees at 3:00 p.m..

Flying Solo for the Summer opens June 30 and plays through August 26.

Performances Tuesday through Saturday at 8:00 p.m. Sunday at 7:00 p.m. and 4 Sunday Matinees at 3:00 p.m.  Additionally they will offer Flying Solo for the Summer Pass that includes a choice of the 3 shows for the ticket price of 2 shows.  The Hayworth Theatre is located at 2509 Wilshire Blvd. two blocks east of Rampart near downtown Los Angeles.
