Grove Theatre Announces the World Premiere of TSARINA
DJWorks Music and The Grove Theatre announce the World Premiere of TSARINA, opening September 16th at 7:29 pm. In TSARINA, which might be described as "LES MIS MEETS DR. ZHIVAGO", the love of Nicholas and Alexandra endures in the face of political intrigue, jealousy, greed and revolution. History meets fiction with a wonderful message of undying love, strength and hope in the face of fear. The book, music and lyrics were written and composed by Upland resident, Deborah Johnson, known At The Grove for her piano and vocal performances in Double Grande. Additional music and lyrics, "How Did We Get Here" by Wayland Pickard, co-star of Double Grande. The play is directed and co-choreographed by Joshua Finkel.
The cast includes Kelly Derouin (Alexandra), Patrick Dillon Curry (Nicholas), Cindy Clark, BrIan Brown, Michael Torrenueva, Deborah Lederer, Dain August, Robert Moon, Valerie Lohman, Nicholas Sloan, Amy Segal, Aaron Lyons, Laura Anderson, Gabrielle Gutierrez, Tina Nguyen, Jobob Taeleifi, and Kelsey Coleman.
TSARINA runs from September 16th to the 25th. Performances are on Fridays and Saturdays at 7:29 pm and Sundays at 2:00 pm. Tickets are $25 and $20 with senior, student and group discounts available.
