Frantic Assembly Award Winning London Based Theater Company (Movement Direction for the Tony Award-Winning Theatre production The Curious Incident of the Dog in the Night-Time (West End, Broadway, UK & Ireland Tour, US tour) comes to Los Angeles and other US cities.


Hosted by Actors Movement Studio a 45 year-old NYC Conservatory dedicated to Training Actors in Physical Technique and Movement for the Actor is hosting Frantic Assembly Workshop tour in Los Angeles, Philadelphia and NYC this October!

Frantic Assembly is an extremely innovative London-based company that has developed a methodology for creating heightened movement that is grounded in reality. Join Frantic practitioner Jess Williams for workshops in -6 hour sessions and discover Frantic Assembly's unique approach to creating physical material. Frantic Assembly's Method of devising liberates potential, and builds confidence in performers. This highly physical workshop will build skills, confidence, bravery and Creativity!


Workshop will range from beginning to intermediate work, No previous experience necessary; this workshop is suitable for all, Experience what it is like to be an actor in the rehearsal room· Work collaboratively to create new devised material including Group Elevation and Chair Duets, Learn practical, production specific exercises from shows like the Tony-Award winning shows Curious Incident, Lovesong, Stockholm, Beautiful Burnout and Othello, Explore how to use physicality to create meaning and subtext, Build your own physical confidence and develop your skills, Learn new and exciting approaches to devising work and take them your own projects.

About Frantic Assembly: Award winning and sector leading theatre company Frantic Assembly is led by Artistic Director and co-founder Scott Graham. It has toured extensively across the UK and worked in forty countries internationally collaborating with some of today's most inspiring artists. Frantic Assembly is studied as a leading Contemporary Theatre practitioner on five British and international academic syllabuses.

The company also delivers a Collaborative Theatre-Making MA, with Coventry University (UK Modern University of the Year 2014, 2015 & 2016; UK University of the Year 2015). Frantic Assembly also delivers Ignition, an innovative vocational training project for young men, particularly targeting those with little previous experience of the arts. Funded by the Esmèe Fairbairn Foundation, Ignition engages the least engaged and unlocks creative potential in boys across the UK.As well as Things I Know To Be True, productions include Othello, Beautiful Burnout (UK, Australia, New Zealand and New York), Lovesong, Stockholm (UK and Australia) and The Believers.

Frantic Assembly has also provided movement direction on the Tony Award-Winning National Theatre production The Curious Incident of the Dog in the Night-Time (West End, Broadway, UK & Ireland Tour, US tour) and movement direction on the BAFTA nominated British/American TV series Humans (AMC, Channel 4 & Kudos).

Frantic Assembly has commissioned and collaborated with writers such as Mark Ravenhill, Abi Morgan and Bryony Lavery, and the success of the company's distinct creative approach has influenced Contemporary Theatre-making and foregrounded the use of movement directors and choreographers in new dramatic works. It has inspired writers to embrace new creative processes and opened up actors and dancers to new techniques. This is a matter of great pride to the company as it continues to do something different, and to do it differently.

About workshop leader Jess Williams: Jess began working for Frantic Assembly in 2012 as a practitioner. She is currently working for the company as Associate Movement Director on the US tour of The Curious Incident of the Dog in the Night-Time. In 2014 Jess was in the cast of the UK tour of The Curious Incident of the Dog in the Night-Time (Movement Direction by Frantic Assembly) as a performer and Movement Captain. Other credits for Frantic Assembly include co-director Dead, Born, Grow for the National Youth Theatre of Wales show, Movement Director, Jumping Puddles for Open Clasp Theatre. Jess trained at the London Contemporary Dance School. Other work includes movement director for the National Theatre of Wales, Sherman Cymru and Dirty Protest. She has danced for ThickSkin, Katie Green, Nigel Charnock, Jo Fong, Welsh Independent Dance, Impact Dance, Ffin dance and Secret Cinema.
