Francesca Amari Debuts YOU MAKE ME LAUGH, 5/28

Desert singer Francesca Amari will debut her new show You Make Me Laugh at Blame It On Midnight in Palm Springs on Saturday, May 28th at 8 PM. Joining Francesca will be local music director Joel Baker for this one-night only performance featuring many songs and stories from Gilda Radner's own repertoire and pays tribute to her stage career and long run on Saturday Night Live. A portion of the $10 cover charge will help benefit Gilda's Club Desert Cities, an affiliate of the Cancer Support Community which provide a full range of programs free of charge, through emotional and social support groups, gentle exercise, nutrition, social activities and education in the comfortable, home-like environment of their center located in Cathedral City and off-site in Desert Hot Springs, Mecca, and Thermal. Francesca Amari's previous cabaret appearances include clubs throughout the Midwest, Chicago, Palm Springs, San Diego, The Gardenia in West Hollywood and NYC's Metropolitan Room, and concerts in New York with Broadway star Karen Mason and cabaret legend Andrea Marcovicc. Her many musical review credits include: Midlife! The Crisis Musical; Boogie Woogie Babies"; Boogie Down Broadway; and Boogie, Beehives & Beyond. Francesca is a former dramatics teacher at such educational institutions as Aquinas College, Western Michigan University, Grand Valley State University, and has directed numerous children's productions for more than 20 years. She's currently is a Teaching Artist for McCallum Theatre Institute and has done writing, editing, special event planning, PR and marketing for several non-profits like United Way; Planned Parenthood; YWCA; and Grand Rapids Public Library. Ms. Amari released her CD, "Better Days," in 2008 receiving national recognition and four 'JAMMIE' nominations from WYCE West MI.

Francesca Amari in You Make Me Laugh - A Love Song To Gilda Radner will be presented at Blame It On Midnight, located at 777 E. Tahquitz Canyon Way, in Palm Springs. Cover charge for the Saturday, May 28th show is $10 cash only collected before the show. Reserved seating in the cabaret may be made with dinner reservations only by calling 760-323-1200. Show time is 8 PM and the doors to the cabaret room open at 6 PM with full menu, appetizer, and cocktail service before the show.
